Maintenance

The Maintenance department maintains the Districts buildings, grounds, and maintenance needs. We also perform alterations, and new construction adhering to State and Federal standards in and out of the classroom. We work closely with local, State, and Federal organizations and programs that have areas or programs at our sites that interact with our students and staff daily.

The department helps provides a safe, efficient, and clean learning environment for students and staff at all of our sites. We are lucky to have a skilled and hard-working staff that has a tremendous amount of pride. Our focus is to provide indoor and outdoor facilities and athletic fields that everyone can use and enjoy.

Our Mission

The Maintenance department is to support the overall mission and values of the District maximizing a healthysafepleasant, and functional environment for learning.

Building on Excellence

KVUSD Solar Power

In early 2016, the KVUSD Board of Education entered into a 20-year Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SolarCity. Under this agreement, SolarCity designed, built, owns, and maintains solar field installations at Kelseyville High School, Mountain Vista Middle School, and Riviera Elementary School at no cost to the district.

Through the PPA model, KVUSD purchases solar-generated electricity at a fixed rate significantly lower than standard utility rates. This arrangement allows the district to reduce its energy costs while SolarCity receives income from electricity sales, tax credits, and renewable energy incentives.

Projected Energy Production & Savings:

  • First Year: 829,196 kWh generated, saving the district approximately $111,639
  • 20-Year Total: 15,819,324 kWh generated, with estimated savings of $3,453,900
