California Healthy Kids Survey
What is the California Healthy Kids Survey?
The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is an anonymous and confidential survey that helps our school district better understand the needs of our students. The survey asks students about:
- School climate and safety
- Student wellness and health behaviors
- School connectedness and engagement
- Protective factors and resilience
- Health risks and behaviors
Who Participates?
Students in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11 across Kelseyville Unified School District participate in the CHKS. The survey is administered during regular school hours and typically takes 30-45 minutes to complete.
How We Use Survey Results
The information gathered from the CHKS helps Kelseyville Unified School District:
- Identify areas where students need additional support
- Improve school climate and safety
- Develop programs that address student health and wellness
- Make data-driven decisions about resource allocation
- Track progress over time in creating positive learning environments
- Meet requirements for our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)
