Migrant Education
The Migrant Education Program is dedicated to supporting the unique educational needs of migrant students in our community. We provide supplementary educational services and resources to help our migrant students succeed academically and prepare for college and career opportunities.
What is Migrant Education?
Migrant Education is a federally funded program designed to provide supplementary educational and support services to eligible migrant students. At KVUSD, migrant students receive these services through California Migrant Education Region 2, which serves more than 14,000 students across 22 Northern California counties.
Our migrant community represents diverse ethnic and language backgrounds, including Spanish, Punjabi, Hmong, Mien, Laos, Vietnamese, and English speakers.
How Services are Provided
Kelseyville Unified School District's Migrant Education Program is proudly administered through Region 2 of the California Migrant Education Program, which is operated by the Butte County Office of Education (BCOE).
The Region 2 Migrant Education Program coordinates and provides supplemental educational and support services to eligible migrant students and their families across multiple counties in Northern California, including Lake County. These services are designed to address the unique educational challenges faced by children of migrant workers who move frequently due to their parents' employment in agricultural, dairy, fishing, or logging industries.
For more detailed information about available migrant education services, eligibility requirements, or to schedule an appointment with a Region 2 representative, please visit the Butte County Office of Education - Migrant Education Region 2 website:
