Special Education

KVUSD’s Special Education Department is dedicated to supporting the unique needs of each student through comprehensive assessments and personalized services. Our department serves as a vital resource for students, parents, and general education staff throughout the district.

Our Team

Our department consists of compassionate and knowledgeable professionals who work collaboratively to help each student reach their full potential. We believe in fostering independence, building self-advocacy skills, and developing self-respect in every student we serve.

Our Approach

We recognize and deeply value the individual differences in learning styles and abilities among our students. Our approach is built on respecting each student's unique strengths and needs, creating individualized supports that promote academic growth and personal development.

Our Commitment

We are committed to celebrating the individual successes of both our students and their families. We work closely with parents as essential partners in the educational journey, providing resources, guidance, and support every step of the way.

Through collaborative planning, specialized instruction, and ongoing support, we strive to create educational experiences that empower our students to thrive in school and beyond.
