A reminder that there will be no school on Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day. We honor and thank all those who have served our country.
FALL BOOK FAIR – SHOP ONLINE UNTIL NOV. 16
Thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair in person this past week! Online shopping is still available until November 16th, so there’s still time to browse and support our school.
We want to thank our incredible librarian, Ms. Meyer, for all her hard work in making the Book Fair possible, and to everyone who contributed to its success. A large portion of the proceeds comes right back to our school, helping to replenish our library and keep students reading all year long!
NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION
November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native Americans. To celebrate, our students will attend a districtwide event on Thursday, Nov. 13, at Kelseyville High School. The celebration will include a dance performance, cultural demonstrations, and educational stations from local tribes and agencies to learn, connect, and celebrate the diverse traditions and heritage that continue to enrich our community and country.
NOVEMBER FOOD RESOURCES
We want to remind families that all KVUSD students will continue to have access to free meals at school each day. If your family is in need of food assistance for your children during Fall Break, please reach out to your school counselor so they can help connect you with available support. KELSEYVILLE YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Registration for Kelseyville Youth Basketball is open now through November 14th for students in grades 1–6. Don’t miss this opportunity for kids to learn teamwork, build skills, and have fun on the court! Register here.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER
Happy November! As we wrap up the first week of November and head into the holiday season, it's the perfect time to focus on gratitude, connection, and healthy habits! While the holidays can be exciting, they can also be a little overwhelming for students — so here are a few simple ways families can support their students:
- Build Routines: During holiday breaks, keep a consistent bedtime and daily routine. This helps students feel secure and confident in their return to school.
- Practice Gratitude: Ask your student to share one thing they're thankful for each day. You can start a "gratitude jar" and read the notes together at the end of the month.
- Give Back Together: Volunteer as a family, donate gently used items, or make cards for neighbors or community helpers.
- Keep Learning Alive: Encourage reading, journaling, or hands-on learning activities (like cooking or simple science experiments). It keeps their brains active in fun ways!
Let's celebrate moments together, such as reading, sharing a meal, and talking about our day. It's the little things that make a big difference in a child's life. Below are a few great Gratitude books you and your student can enjoy reading together:
