Principal's Note

SCHOOL BEGINS TUESDAY, SEPT. 2
I’m excited to kick off another wonderful year at KES! Each Friday, I’ll share a principal’s note with updates on school news, activities, and events. You can also find this information on our website or our Facebook page. Class lists will be announced via email or phone, so please make sure your contact information is up to date!

UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION & CONTACT INFO
If you haven’t already done so, please update your registration forms and contact information via the PowerSchool parent portal on the KVUSD website. This must be completed every year to ensure we have the most accurate information. In the event of an emergency, we want to be able to reach you.  If you need help completing your registration, please call the school at 707-279-4232, and we’ll walk you through it.

DROP-OFF TIME AT 7:30 AM
Morning supervision begins at 7:30 am in the MUR Building, with outdoor supervision beginning at 7:40 am. Classes will begin at 7:55 am this year. When you arrive, please help us keep traffic flowing by pulling all the way forward. Because we’re all getting back into the school-year routine, consider giving yourself a bit more time for morning drop-off during the first week or so. If you arrive later than 8:00 am, please check in at the front office.

END-OF-DAY PICK-UP
School ends at 2:00 pm daily, and students can be picked up at the release gate at the far end of the parking lot.

SCHOOL CALENDAR
Keep up to date with early dismissal days and holiday breaks by checking our academic calendar and bell schedule here. Please note that early dismissal days are moving from Mondays to Wednesdays. Starting October 1st, students will be released at 1:00 pm every Wednesday.

BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENUS
Kids need fuel for all of their learning and playing. Our school provides breakfast and lunch to every student free of cost. View our menus here.

TRANSPORTATION
If your student needs busing and you haven’t signed up, visit our website for forms and other information. If you have a TK/Kindergarten student, the bus driver will not release the student unless you or a trusted adult is present at the drop-off location.

DON’T FORGET TO LABEL YOUR ITEMS!
Many student items, like jackets, lunchboxes, and water bottles, look alike. To help us get lost items back to the right student, please make sure your child’s items are clearly labeled.

If you have questions, please contact your student’s teacher or reach out to me at 707-279-4232 or sconrad@kvusd.org.

 Thank you!
