FALL FESTIVAL – OCT 24 | 5:00 PM
Join us tonight at 5:00 pm for our Lights on Afterschool Trunk or Treat Fall Festival! This year, we’re combining our annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat with EDMO’s nationwide Lights on Afterschool event, hosted by the Riviera PTO & Riviera EDMO. We will have a Haunted Greenhouse, carnival games, raffle baskets, costume contests, great food, and more – plus exciting new additions like local vendors, a 5th-grade candy and caramel apple station! Entry tickets will be available for $2 at the door, while food and beverages will be an additional charge. See you there!
MISSED PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES?
If you weren’t able to attend conferences last week, please reach out directly to your student’s teacher to set up a time to chat about your child’s progress.
RED RIBBON WEEK – OCT. 27 -31
We’re celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a time to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles and empower students to make positive choices. Join us for a fun Spirit Week filled with themed dress-up days:
- Monday: Rally in Red – Stand up to drugs and wear red!
- Tuesday: Peace Out to Drugs – Wear tie-dye.
- Wednesday: Team Up Against Drugs – Show your team spirit with your favorite sports gear.
- Thursday: Follow Your Dreams, Don’t Do Drugs – Come to school in your pajamas.
- Friday: Drugs Are Scary – Wear your Halloween costume (masks during the parade only, no toy weapons).
HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
As we get ready for Halloween festivities, we want to remind families that costumes should be school-appropriate and comfortable for a full day of learning. Please leave toy weapons (such as swords or other props), as well as gory or frightening costumes, at home. Masks may be worn during the parade only. Make sure your student’s costume allows them to move easily and use the restroom without difficulty. We’re looking forward to a fun and safe celebration for everyone!
DOWNTOWN HALLOWEEN PARADE – OCT. 31
We’re thrilled to bring back a beloved tradition! Join us on October 31st at 10:00 am as our students parade down Main Street in their spooktacular costumes. Parents and community members can line up to cheer them on between Saw Shop and West America Bank.

COUNSELOR’S CORNER
October has been an inspiring month as we continue to focus on Bullying Prevention and Awareness. Our students showed amazing creativity in our Bullying Prevention Poster Contest! Their artwork, now displayed throughout the school, reminds us every day to Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible — both in school and online.
Families play an important role in supporting these lessons at home. Here are a few ways to keep the conversation going:
- Talk openly & often: The more you talk with your child about bullying, the more comfortable they’ll feel sharing their experiences.
- Encourage them to be upstanders: If your child sees someone being mistreated, remind them to Be Responsible and tell an adult or kindly ask the other person to Stop.
- Be a role model: Show your child how to Be Respectful by treating others with kindness and speaking up when others are being mistreated.
- Help build your child’s self-confidence: Help your child Be Safe by finding positive friendships through clubs, sports, or activities they love in our community.
- Be a part of their online experience: Explain to your student how the online and the offline world are connected, and the different risks they could encounter online.
