National School Bus Safety Week – Oct. 20-24

Next week is National School Bus Safety Week, and it’s a great time for all of us to pause and think about safety. Please remind your student to stay aware and follow safety rules when getting on and off the bus. And for parents and student drivers, thank you for being extra careful during drop-off and pick-up, watching for students crossing streets, and keeping our campus safe.

Picture Day Retakes & Senior Pictures – Oct. 22

Senior pictures and picture retakes will take place on Wednesday, October 22. Students will be called to the Student Center for their photos throughout the day. Be sure to be at school and don’t forget to bring your best smile!

DELAC Meeting – Oct. 22

We’re excited to invite parents to the first District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting of the year! Join us on October 22nd at 5:30 pm in the KHS Library to help provide input and guidance on programs and decisions that support our English Learner students.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders

To help improve traffic flow and ensure student safety, we ask that all student drop-offs take place in front of the school. Students are not allowed to leave campus after they are dropped off at the school site. This includes both district transportation and private drop-offs.

We also appreciate your patience during afternoon pick-up. When many cars arrive right at dismissal, it can create congestion—especially in rainy weather when buses need space to pull through. If you’re able to arrive just a few minutes after the bell, traffic tends to move more smoothly. Thank you for keeping our campus safe and accessible for all.

Independent Study – 2 Week Notice

If your student will be going on independent study, we ask that you provide a two-week notice, so our teachers have time to prepare your child’s work. You can contact our attendance secretary, Lori, at Lbour@kvusd.org to make arrangements. Thank you for helping us set your student up for success!

Reminder: We’re Looking For Subs!

Our district is seeking substitute teachers, custodians, and other support staff. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team, please contact Lisa at lpendleton@kvusd.org at the District Office for more information.
