Multilingual Learners Programs and Services

At KVUSD, we are proud to support our Multilingual Learners on their journey to academic success and English proficiency. Our Multilingual Learner (ML) program is designed to empower students by providing access to rigorous curriculum alongside personalized language development support. Guided by our belief in the power of every student, we offer targeted instruction from highly-qualified ML educators who understand the unique strengths and needs of language learners. Support is tailored to each student’s English proficiency, grade level, and learning goals—ensuring every learner is both powerful and present in their education.

District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) plays a vital role in supporting English Learner (EL) students across KVUSD. DELAC serves as a bridge between the District Office, school sites, and families—fostering communication, collaboration, and shared responsibility to ensure our English Learners thrive academically and linguistically.

Comprised of parents/guardians of EL students, school staff, and community members, DELAC meets regularly to advise the local governing board on programs, services, and goals that impact English Learners. This collaborative space empowers families to have a voice in the decisions that shape their children's education and success.
