Let’s celebrate our school spirit next week! Here are the dress-up themes:
- Monday, October 27th: Spooky PJ’s
- Tuesday, October 28: Anything but a Backpack!
- Wednesday, October 29: Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
- Thursday, October 30: Students Dress as Teachers/Teachers Dress as Students
- Friday, October 31: Dress in Your Costume!
HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
Halloween is almost here! Please remember that costumes should be school-appropriate and comfortable for a full day of learning. Please leave masks, toy weapons, scary props, or gory costumes at home. Thank you!
PEER SUPPORT GROUPS BEGIN NEXT WEEK!
Our school is offering weekly support groups through Hospice Wings of Hope for students navigating grief. Running for 6–8 weeks, these support groups are open to all students, with permission slips provided for those who need them. We encourage you to check in with your student to see if they have signed up or might benefit from this opportunity. If you have any questions, please reach out to Casey Carlson, School-Based Mental Health Professional, at ccarlson@kvusd.org.
END OF QUARTER – OCT. 31
Please remind your students to turn in all assignments by then. You can check their progress in PowerSchool or reach out to their teachers to make sure nothing is missing. Let’s help our students finish the quarter strong!
GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS – NOV. 3 - 4
Tryouts for A and B Teams will be held Monday, November 3rd, and Tuesday, November 4th in the MUR. B Team is at 3:30 pm, and A Team is at 5:00 pm.
Students planning to play Winter sports must have their physicals and MVMS paperwork uploaded to the MVMS Athletics Google Classroom by Oct. 31. If you already turned in a physical for a Fall sport, you’re set for the whole school year! Participation paperwork is available online and in the office.

REMINDER: BASKETBALL OPEN GYM
Basketball Open Gym will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the MVMS Gym, starting now and running through November 27. All students are welcome to join as we work on basketball basics and get ready for tryouts. Come practice, learn, and have fun on the court!
REMINDER: BE SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE… AND REWARDED!
At MVMS, we know that a safe, respectful, and responsible campus benefits everyone. Parents, you can help by reminding your students to follow our school rules and make positive choices every day, which helps keep our school a welcoming and safe place for all.
As a fun way to celebrate those choices, students can earn Pride Points from teachers for being safe, respectful, and responsible. They can “shop” for fun items in our newly opened Pride Point Shop, open during break and after school. Be sure to ask your student what they’re saving up for!
