INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY– OCT. 13
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Native Peoples, both nationally and within our local community. We recognize the enduring presence and influence of local tribes that continue to shape our community today. At the same time, we acknowledge the painful history of violence, injustice, and discrimination faced by Native Peoples—struggles that persist in many forms today. THE GREAT SHAKEOUT – OCT. 16
On October 16th, our school will be participating in the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill. This is an opportunity for students to practice earthquake safety and be prepared. Check out these awesome earthquake safety videos with your child – They’re fun, informative, and a great way to start conversations about staying safe during earthquakes!
BASKETBALL OPEN GYM
Basketball Open Gym will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the MVMS Gym, starting now and running through November 27. All students are welcome to join as we work on basketball basics and get ready for tryouts. Come practice, learn, and have fun on the court!
BE SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE… AND REWARDED!
At MVMS, we know that a safe, respectful, and responsible campus benefits everyone. Parents, you can help by reminding your students to follow our school rules and make positive choices every day, which helps keep our school a welcoming and safe place for all.
As a fun way to celebrate those choices, students can earn Pride Points from teachers for being safe, respectful, and responsible. They can “shop” for fun items in our newly opened Pride Point Shop, open during break and after school. Be sure to ask your student what they’re saving up for!
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES
As we continue to enjoy football season, we want to remind parents that middle school and elementary students must be accompanied by an adult to any KHS football games. This helps make sure everyone has a safe and fun time cheering on our teams.
GO, MVMS VOLLEYBALL!
A big congratulations to our volleyball team on an amazing season so far! We’ve loved seeing the stands filled with students, families, and staff cheering in their school colors and face paint. Your spirit and support mean so much to our student-athletes. Let’s keep the energy going and continue showing up for one another!
